This committee is responsible for financial instruments, financial markets, valuation principles, benchmarks, mandates and financial products as well as data reporting for funds under management.

Key Focus Areas

• Focus on development finance, funding models for infrastructure and SOE financing with an increased focus on Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) and engagement with parastatals and the relevant ministries.
• Drive Impact Investing for development and growth within the South African market.
• Form partnership with government and pro-active engagement on regulation.
• Identify tax incentives that can stimulate investment in South Africa.

ETF STANDING COMMITTEE

ASISA point person: Sunette Mulder

The ETF Standing committee provides a forum where all ETF related matters are co-ordinated and addressed with an overarching responsibility for monitoring and integrating ETF related matters across all the affected ASISA Board Committees, Standing Committees and Working Groups.

FIXED INCOME STANDING COMMITTEE

ASISA point person: Gill Raine

This committee is responsible for all fixed interest and money market issues including price discovery, valuation, benchmarking, and trading.

FUND CLASSIFICATIONS STANDING COMMITTEE

ASISA point person: Sunette Mulder

The committee is responsible for ASISA Classification Standards relevant to the classification of South African Regulated Collective Investment Scheme Portfolios.

GIPS STANDING COMMITTEE

ASISA point person: Sunette Mulder

As country sponsor of GIPS, this committee will focus on technical performance measurement issues: performance history, benchmarks, reporting and risk measures.

HEDGE FUNDS STANDING COMMITTEE

ASISA point person: Sunette Mulder

The committee will focus on Hedge Fund Related issues and with relevant stakeholders work on proposals for future hedge fund regulation.

RESPONSIBLE INVESTING STANDING COMMITTEE

ASISA point person: Sunette Mulder

This committee will focus on related issues as well as a strategy to enhance the uptake of Responsible Investments within the South African market. The Committee works closely with UNPRI on integration of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) factors within investment processes.
