QUARTERLY UPDATE: APRIL - JUNE 2024
In the quarter under review, our valued investors and programme sponsors contributed R7 million to the ASISA ESD initiative. Over the same period, more than R40 million was deployed to provide tailored business acceleration and developmental support to Black-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and to fund enterprise and supplier development programmes. These interventions supported 147 existing jobs.

Our valued investors and programme sponsors contributed R28 million to the ASISA ESD initiative in the first quarter 2024. Over the same period, we deployed R32 million to provide tailored business acceleration and developmental support to Black-owned small and medium enterprises (SMEs), and to fund enterprise and supplier development programmes. These interventions created 160 new jobs and supported 179 existing jobs.

The ASISA ESD Funds Investment Committee welcomed a new chairman and several new committee members on 1 June 2023.
Paul Boynton, former CEO of Old Mutual Alternative Investments, joined the committee and was appointed chairman, replacing long-standing chair Leon Campher.
