The ASISA Foundation, a non-profit initiative, was established by ASISA in 2012 and since inception to February 2024 over 117,000 beneficiaries have been trained through its various programmes. The strategic objective of the Foundation as an industry body is to develop, implement and refine relevant and objective consumer financial education programmes which have a positive and sustainable impact on the South African society. The Foundation delivers effective financial literacy and micro-enterprise development programmes to South Africa’s most vulnerable groups.
The Foundation celebrated 10 Years of Infinite Impact in 2023. Through the work of its various programmes the impact that it is creating is vast. This is also attributed to it collaborating with many parties to the benefit of the beneficiaries of its programmes and its impact is not just lasting but huge. With over a decade of work being done the positive benefits of the Foundation’s work continue to cascade through our society and this impact is arguably infinite.
The Foundation is optimally structured to comply with the B-BBEE Act as a Broad-Based Ownership Scheme, and its programmes and methodologies comply with all the requirements of the Financial Sector Code (FSC) which enables its programmes to qualify for either CFE or SED points. Contributions made by funders to the Foundation in respect of these programmes can be recognised for BEE points scorecard purposes on the date that payment is made to the Foundation.
